To thoroughly implement the "Opinions on Promoting Ancient Books Work in the New Era," continuously advance the Chinese Ancient Books Protection Plan, conduct in-depth ancient book surveys, strengthen basic information collection, and improve bibliographic data, combined with actual work conditions, in 2024 the Henan Provincial Library (Henan Ancient Books Protection Center) will continue to host the "Chinese Ancient Books Protection Cultural Volunteer Service Action" organized by the China Ancient Books Protection Association. The relevant matters are hereby announced as follows:
I. Activity Content
The plan was to recruit and select six cultural volunteers from among those from higher education institutions with experience in ancient book collation, signing agreements with the Henan Provincial Library. After short-term training by ancient book experts, they would go to ancient book collection units in the Sanmenxia area to conduct volunteer services such as verifying ancient book census data and organizing and improving census registration catalogs.
II. Registration Requirements
1. Graduate students currently enrolled in universities.
2. Majors in classical philology, historical philology, or related fields.
3. Passionate about outstanding traditional Chinese culture, with a strong sense of responsibility and team spirit.
4. Consciously abide by the rules and regulations of Henan Provincial Library and obey library management.
5. Good health.
3. Recruitment Procedures
1. Fill out the "2024 Chinese Ancient Book Protection Culture Volunteer Service Action · Henan Tour" registration form (see attachment) and send the electronic version to the email address: 46910316@qq.com by July 5. Staff will respond within 3 working days.
2. The Henan Provincial Library will conduct a qualification review of applicants and notify the proposed hires of the registration time and location.
3. The right to interpret this recruitment announcement belongs to the Henan Provincial Library.
4. Safeguards and support
1. The China Ancient Books Protection Association, in cooperation with the Henan Ancient Books Protection Center, will provide volunteers with necessary venues, equipment, transportation, and other expenses.
2. After the event, volunteers will be awarded certificates of social practice activities.
