The Lending Department is responsible for the collection and safekeeping of Chinese books, as well as external lending and reading, with a current collection of over 1.5 million volumes (items). There are four open windows: the Social Sciences Book Lending Section, the Natural Science Book Lending Section, the Chinese Comprehensive Reading Room, and the Chinese Reference Book Reading Room.

Introduction
to Literature Resources and Services of the Newspaper and Periodical Department: The Henan Provincial Library Periodicals Department mainly collects domestic newspapers and magazines, holding more than 1,600 pre-founding periodicals, over 8,000 post-founding periodicals, and over 1,800 newspapers, with over 260,000 volumes of this newspaper and magazine combined. Currently, there are three external reading and circulation windows.
The newspaper reading room on the second floor holds 144 types of Chinese newspapers from China, available for public reading and updated daily.
The second-floor Chinese Periodicals Reading Room holds 516 current periodicals for public reading. Some expired Chinese journals are "consulted" externally, and readers can borrow them with their book cards.
The third-floor Chinese Journal Consultation Room holds 2,087 current Chinese journals, which readers can consult and borrow with their book card.

to Document Resources and Services of the Local Literature Department: The Local Documents Department of the Henan Provincial Library currently holds more than 570 types of bound editions and more than 13,000 volumes of local newspapers from Henan, over 600 periodicals and more than 4,000 volumes of bound editions, and more than 20,000 books, all of which are documents from after the founding of the People's Republic. Most of the materials are from various local chronicles, genealogies, statistical yearbooks, Party history materials, and local newspapers.
Henan local documents are a condensed and microcosm of Henan's history, and also serve as authentic records of the province's political, economic, and cultural conditions. to Ancient Books Department Literature Resources
The Ancient Books Department of the Henan Provincial Library mainly collects books written or printed before 1912 in Chinese classical binding styles, and books printed, facsimile, and typeset after 1912 with Chinese classical binding styles are also available The collection includes more than 400,000 volumes. In addition, the department also holds over 570 types of over 2,000 volumes of Henan local documents compiled and printed during the Republic of China period, bound in paperback format.

to Children's Department Literature Resources and Services: The
Children's Department of Henan Provincial Library was established in 1982. In 2008, due to the demolition of the old library, the Children's Department moved from the old library on Yousheng North Road to the main library on Songshan South Road. Currently, on the east side of the sixth floor of the main building, there are book lending services and children's periodical reading windows. The main service resources include:
1. Book resources: There are over 20,000 children's books, and nearly 10,000 new children's books are purchased annually. These books mainly include comics, Chinese and foreign classics, essays, children's books, biographical literature, novels, art, education, encyclopedias, and series of books.
2. Journal resources: There are over 100 journals suitable for children and children, including popular science journals like "We Love Science," educational journals like "Must-Read for Parents," knowledge journals like "Knowledge Library," and abstract journals like "Youth." to Foreign Languages Department Literature Resources The Foreign Languages Department of Henan Provincial Library mainly collects books and periodicals in English, Japanese, and Russian, with a small number of foreign language documents in French, Spanish, German, Korean, Indian, Arabic, and other languages With over ten thousand volumes, it is the only department in our province's public library with a large amount of foreign language literature resources, tasked with serving scientific research, economic development, and serving the public in Henan, promoting Henan's industrial and agricultural production, science, education, and culture and other aspects.
The Foreign Languages Department is located on the north side of the fourth floor of the main building, equipped with a foreign language book repository, foreign language reference book retrieval and circulation database, a foreign language book lending room, and a foreign language book sorting room. The Foreign Languages Department holds a large collection of original foreign language novels and youth foreign language books, as well as large-scale foreign language reference books and periodicals such as The New York Times, The Times, Time, and Newsweek.
